COSMIC LAG (ongoing)
COSMIC LAG (ongoing) is a visual representation of ideologies such as phenomenology, physics, and metamodernism, creating an oscillation between subjectivity, objectivity, traditions, and non-traditions in each work. All things move through time and space indefinitely--each passing moment continuously spirals throughout the cosmos. This series comments on our need for screens and the massive amounts electronic waste generated within the ‘lag’ each person carries; simultaneously I am analyzing the photographic studio practices, to show how modern technology can be manipulated to become an in-depth experience. By combining 3D printing, small computer units, screens, and projections with photographic studio equipment I am able to gather information on the traditional processes related to studio photography, from the lighting, and the modeling of objects, to how this coincides with the dismantling of said traditions.
